CJC and Ipamorelin

As we age, our hormone levels begin to decline. Notably, there is a decrease in growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). IGF-1 is typically elevated when we take growth hormone. Additionally, we see an increase in cellular cortisol, often called the stress hormone. This hormonal decline leads to a significant decrease in muscle mass and strength, diminished insulin sensitivity (which can result in increased fat gain) and a decline in cognitive function and memory. Our immune system also becomes less effective than when we were younger and our mitochondria—the powerhouses of our cells—struggle to multiply as they once did.

Growth hormone plays a crucial role in regulating various bodily functions, including body composition (both body fat and lean muscle mass), sleep cycles, bone density, immune function, sexual function, mood, memory, cognition, cardiovascular capacity, endurance, energy levels, exercise capacity and glucose utilization. Growth hormone increases levels of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). Some studies have indicated that high levels of IGF-1 in older men are associated with increased cancer mortality. In contrast, other studies suggest that elevated IGF-1 levels may correlate with a decreased risk of mortality overall. It’s essential to cycle growth hormone administration intermittently.

The growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), or CJC, enhances growth hormone and IGF-1 levels through a natural feedback loop in the body. Unlike direct growth hormone administration, CJC does not suppress the body’s natural production of growth hormone from the pituitary gland. Similarly, the growth hormone-releasing peptide (GHRP) Ipamorelin operates comparably. It stimulates growth hormone and IGF-1 levels through a feedback mechanism directed at the pituitary gland.
